I’ve been looking for this song forever! It’s in the ending credits of The A Team movie (2010). I’ve searched everywhere and came up with I’ve Got Mine by the Black Keys. But it’s a different arrangement. I found this on IMDB for the A Team movie soundtrack.

"I GOT MINE"
Written by Daniel Q. Auerbach (as Dan Auerbach) and Patrick J. Carney (as Patrick Carney)
Performed by The Black Keys
Courtesy of Nonesuch Records
By Arrangement with Warner Music Group Film & TV Licensing

Does anyone know where i can find this arrangement? Any help is greatly appreciated, I’ve been looking for this song forever!
It’s not the original version of the song. It’s a different arrangement, with like a stronger guitar sound maybe?

i’m not talking about Artists being able to copyright their music, but more so record companies like Warner music group, saying how they own the music, not the artist.

your thoughts/opinion?

bq:now playing?
bq2:if you could live in any decade what decade would it be, & why?

When I think of your question a few things come to mind. An artist needs to make a living so they sell their music to survive. Just like a common laborer couldn’t afford to spend their entire day working for free just for the sake of being really good at what they do and others enjoy what they do. So the idea of music being free should be scrapped right from the beginning. I don’t believe anyone would expect an artist that paints to spend their time, money and resources creating works of art only to just give it all away at a complete financial loss.

I also don’t think that anyone would expect an artist who paints pictures to tell the buyer what they can or cannot do with their work once it has been bought. If a buyer wants to hang a fancy painting in their bathroom the artist might not like it but that’s the buyers right to do what they please, even if they chose to paint over top of the work or even destroy it.

So when there was an issue about Michael Jackson owning rights to The Beatles music some people were angry, including Paul McCartney. They didn’t want the music to be cheapened and used to sell products in commercials.

And I think about when Jimi Hendrix’s family were fighting to obtain the rights to his music when Alan Douglas had full ownership. He was overdubbing Jimi’s music and changing the music to suit his own personal preference. Originally a lot of Hendrix’s music was available on vinyle but became very scarce with only greatest hits albums available.

That gnawed at me to no end but that’s the way it is when someone owns the music.

With companies getting the copywrite it might gnaw at me on how the price could get jacked up or maybe even songs you would like to hear don’t get out there in the public but I think in the end, it was the musicians decision to sign the contract giving up their say so in the matter and the buying public just has to accept that.

I don’t like it but an artist has to eat and this is the way the system works.

It’s also why people tend to rationalize and justify down-loading/stealing music off the internet.

My family films our "reality show" during the summers and we just finished the 3rd season. I film and edit each "episode" entirely on my own and post them on Facebook and Youtube. After getting an HD camera, Final Cut X, and Motion, this season turned out great… so I wanted to copyright our episodes.

However, our theme song is "We Are Family" by Sister Sledge (cliche, I know). I’ve been focusing a lot on copyright laws lately and whether or not a license is needed. I figured posting them on Facebook was okay because its nonprofit. The song only lasts :28 seconds in the opening credits. (I have it in the end credits also but I could easily go without that).

To get to my point– I want to copyright our show (season 3). I have absolutely no intentions on selling these episodes. The copyright is for my own selfish desire. But I figured I couldn’t say it was all my own work without getting permission/a license from the record label/publisher of "We Are Family". I have emailed Atlantic Records three times and haven’t heard from anyone (which I can completely understand).

So what do I do? Do I need to contact Warner Music Group (which has many record label companies including Atlantic Records)? Do I need to contact BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) about obtaining a license even though it’s nonprofit and I’m not showing it publicly, other than Facebook and Youtube (which have their own license from ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC)?

Now that you’ve read my novel, please help. I’d greatly appreciate it!

Here’s a link to one of our episodes if you would like to see the opening credits to get an idea:

(Note: the other music you hear in the episode is royalty-free under the Creative Commons Legal Code.)

1. You are technically violating copyright by using "We are family."

2. The fact that you aren’t making a profit on it hasn’t the slightest relevance.

3. You may need to contact BMI (assuming they license the music) to get a licence. Another possibility is to contact

4. Putting it on Facebook and Youtube is showing it publicly.

The link below covers the issue.

indie has come to mean several things actually. it originally meant what you think, that it’s signed to an independent label, hence the name "indie"

now it’s being generalized as a type of sound of music, but that’s not really the true meaning. those bands that mtv calls "indie" arent really indie if they are signed to major record companies

Hello, I know that Warner Music Group has been blocking all of their owned artists and respective songs from Youtube. This was never a problem to me as I hardly found myself ever listening to American music bands. However, recently, Warner Music Group has begun to block famous artists -outside- of their held domains. For example, I found myself looking for some videos on the new Russian Pop band "Serebro" and found that many of their videos were blocked by WMG. Yet Serebro is a project completely backed by Monolit Records, a private recording company based in Russia. WMG should have zero claims on this band as it’s obviously not in their "owned artists" list, yet nearly 90% of all their live performances and all of their English songs are blocked from Youtube. WMG has no claims on the Eurovision Song Contest either, as it’s a European based contest, yet they continue to block videos copyright to the EBU and not WMG…

This is crazy, WMG. You don’t own these bands or even their labels, what the hell are you doing blocking them?

Does WMG even operate in Russia and the Ukraine? Or even Germany? Do they have some sort of flawed system on Youtube that’s blocking videos that they -THINK- are owned by WMG?

Thanks in advance.
————-

@some kid: I’ve seen this list before, and it doesn’t help. As you can see, Russia is clearly -NOT- on the list, so how the hell can WMG have a claim on a -RUSSIAN- band that has played -ONLY- in Russa?
—————-

@some kid: I’ve seen this list before, and it doesn’t help. As you can see, Russia is clearly -NOT- on the list, so how the hell can WMG have a claim on a -RUSSIAN- band that has played -ONLY- in Russa?

@DenB7: Wrong again, any videos that feature the bands in their Native language go untouched, however in English, they immediately get blocked with a message explicitly saying;
"This video contains content from WMG, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds."
The content from this band doesn’t belong to WMG, if it had said "Monolit Records" Instead, then it would make more sense. But until then, WMG is claiming rights to artists they do not own!

WMG is a worldwide company. On their official website you can get info about every country they’re in.

*EDIT*
I suppose it’s possible for a band to be signed to a label in another country. Another explanation could be people flagging these videos and using WMG as the company name. YouTube’s copyright identification system needs a lot of work.

It was on time warner cables on demand under the rock catergory. I can not find it anywhere I have played many videos. It also says on there we won’t make the sam mistakes are our ancestors or fathers something like that. I don’t remember the song much but that music video stuck in my brian. I am using that quote for a paper I am writing but I can not remember the exact quote and the artist’s name.
that is the same thing that I see on my on demand. Time warner cable said they took it down yet refuses to acknowledge the song name. They are censoring this song possibly so they will not help.
It might still be there it was in the same catergory as Bon Jovi and Breaking Benjman but I played all the videos and none of them matched.
I watched it thinking it could possibly get censored.
I found it; it is Anti-Flag; when all the lights go out and the quote is I am free from the mistakes of my elders.

sorry i tried looking for you, but here’s the website, http://www.twondemand.com/free/resultsall.aspx?pageId=80&pageMode=listgrid&type=service&id=29 scroll down to the pure rock and see if you see it.
