Does anyone know of a way to get my friend and i noticed???

My friend and i have a band called the sunstars, its more like a duet, than a band, we were both wondering if anyone had any ideas on getting us noticed by a record lable, or a music producer? We have looked in google and yahoo search. does anyone have tips??? We don’t want anyone else to be in our band becuase they don’t know our songs, but if we could find a producer that could hire a band that would be great!! Thanks!!
btw me and my friend sing the songs and dont play them, thats why we need a band to play the music. or have the someone use the computer to make the music!

You have to pay your dews. O.k. get a band and start doing gigs.There’s no shortcuts. If you have your own songs and music you are on your way. But you still have to put in the hard work too. Try to get a manager and get some gigs on the college circuit. you may be 1 in a million.

*Asset management and acquisition – Also known as A&R. Artists are equated to a brand (like Pepsi or 7up), and judged by their overall marketability only. the A&R department manages the companies existing roster occasionally will add new talent (but they do not actively recruit new bands).

*The Recording Contract is just that, a recording contract. It carries not guarantees that, once recorded, anything will happen. The completed project will be pitched to the money and marketing people within the company, and they will decide if they can market it, if they will back it, and just how much they are willing to spend to market it. Many completed albums have been shelved, never to be heard by the masses.

*Manufacturing – pretty straightforward, packaging is developed and the CD’s are mass-produced.

*Marketing – for the lucky few, a marketing plan is developed. Most if not all of the actual marketing and tour execution is outsource by the record company. This most important process includes (but not limited to) the following:
- Brand development (image)
- Photography (from album cover to posters)
- Music Video Production and Distribution
- Radio distribution
- Television Placement
- Tour development and support

*Legal … throughout every step of this process, there are legal considerations attended to by the company. For example…
- Recording Contract – who owns what, who is paying for what, what are the talent obligations, etc…. (generally about 90+ pages)
- Copyright, Broadcast Licensing, Mechanical Licensing, Synchronization Licensing, etc…(you get the idea)

This is, of course, a very broad overview. This is a very complicated business, one which currently, is very risky and frankly not that profitable. It is extremely easy to get ripped off, lied to and / or just plain lose your shirt and the shirt of the person next to you. My point is, do your homework, the more you know, the better your chances, and for heavens sake, be realistic.

How is music recorded onto a Vinyl record?

I have seen the process by which a vinyl record is manufacuturd. How is muic transfered to the vinyl disk itself?

In the recording process, the sound vibrations are written to a master. That master is used to make a metal "stamp". The metal stamp is used to press the vinyl.

Is Warner & other record labels commiting illegal business practices that they should be prosecuted/sued for?

Is Warner & other record labels commiting illegal business practices that they should be prosecuted and/or sued for by the music artists on their label(s) as well authorities regulating against trusts and monopolies?

For example I noticed some bands that were on independent labels apparently must have had Warner buy out their labels they were on. The problem with this is, sometimes when some giant sized media companies like Warner for example buys out smaller companies, they shut they independent label down and they also refuse to market the music artists that was on those labels to the public. Why do these giant sized companies do this? To shut down competition that’s been competition there commercial bubble-gum sellout fluff.
One thing they even do is refuse to allow videos whether it’s the regular videos or homemade videos of independent artists exist on You Tube.

Is this not illegal business practices, that the independent artists on the independent labels that Warner and giant companies like them bought out – should be able to sue Warner and other big companies like them for not honoring contractual obligations and be able to get those giant record companies prosecuted for doing such things?
Breezy, if that means bands are getting ready to sue Warner and other giant labels soon – I sure hope so. The bad and exploitive things they’ve been doing to bands has gone on wayyy too long.
On the other hand, these companies have been doing this for a long time and getting away with it because the government’s deliberately turned a blind eye.

Expect to see several lawsuits soon.

software to record music or sounds playing on my computer without a microphone?

I want to record music from this game, but I don’t have a microphone. Someone recommended audacity but that hasn’t worked.

you need the plug fits mic and speaker one end in speaker and adapter fits two so speaker plug in 1 the other goto mic so hear whatever you are recording 1 line speaker pluged in 1 to mic on speaker end you have adapter 2 holes one plug it gose into speaker hole speaker plug in one the line gose from other hole to mic hope this helps stuff might cost like 5 10 dollars maybe less go to radio shack

What is the best software to transfer music on vinyl records to cd for home use?

I am a home user with a AMD/Windows XP machine. I want to transter the music on my old vinyl records to the computer and then to CD. I am a medium level user. Want something easy to use that will give reasonable fidelity.

Polderbits. I have been using is for 5 years or so. I even make my own cd’s of songs that I sing with it.
I think I paid $20 or so for it.

through the late 90’s and into 2002 a small band caled South bound plaied the bars of Vermont ,they eventualy made their way to nashvile ,and were offered a recording contract .
your question is what record lable offered the contract . in the event that more than one person gets the question right ,extra consideration will given to the person who can also give their manager’s name ( dont waste your time its not on the web you actualy have to know the answer)

You won’t very likely get a very large audience for your question. Vermont is not the largest state in the union you know. I like their syrup though.
