“The Day That Never Comes” is the fortieth single by American heavy metal band Metallica, and the first from the band’s new studio album, Death Magnetic. “The Day That Never Comes” was released to the radio and for digital download on Thursday August 21st, 2008 at 11 am PDT.
The song, as well as the rest of the tracks from Death Magnetic, is available as DLC for the video game Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, as well as Guitar Hero World Tour. Originally it was going to be DLC for the video game Rock Band before the album’s release, but this idea was likely scrapped.
Like previous ballads and downbeat songs by Metallica, it is the fourth track of the album. Rock Sound has also compared the song to the likes of Thin Lizzy.[3] The intro starts out with clean guitars that carry into the verses, while the choruses are backed with heavily distorted guitars. The bridge speeds up gradually and eventually leads into fast paced harmony between the guitars and a long guitar solo by Hammett, a build-up comparable to that of “One” and “Fade to Black.” The ending of the song, like the previously mentioned ballads, is purely instrumental, featuring numerous solos and chord progressions.

Music comforts and that is fine. but you shouldn’t ever let something keep you alive other then the desire to live. not a guy/girl, music, friends. dont live for them. live for you. i have watched children of 13-17 get hit with .50cal shells because they were armed. I still dont pray to any god. its just music. live for yourself.

@germainiac666 his “feelings” as you call it are really just training. they know better then to do like that. if they approach you they expect to die. they know better then that. 99% of them do. we encounter traps like that and the guys get really pushy and a few have ran at us, we shot them, they had about 200lbs of bombs in the back of the car. some had huge amounts of weapons. all under the guise of a pregnant wife or broken car, no gas, no tire. etc.

@acco122 most of the set ups like that dont even have guns. they have explosives be it on them or their “wives” which can even be men dressed up. They tell you she is pregnant and needs to get to the hospital you help them then BOOM your dead along with anyone within about 50-100 feet of the vehicle.

SERiously white smoke? what did they hit? and IED? no debris in the air? just smoke? man that would have made both tours in Iraq candy. That wasn’t even a big one. the tires were still on the truck and INFLATED. then they sit in the open and pop smoke? jesus I survived 16 IED’s which is about normal and some flipped our vehicles. crushed windows and removed tires. they could have a little better job. not helmets on or anything. thats why my wasnt a marine. then they LEAVE dude alone
